After a while my profiles run very slowly. Why?
One possible cause is anti-virus software. Anti-virus software often scans new or modified files, e.g. the On Access Scanning (OAS) feature in ZoneAlarm does this. Try temporarily disabling the anti-virus software and running tests to see if that is the cause. Note that you may need to reboot for the change in settings to take effect. If the anti-virus software is the cause contact their technical support for assistance in resolving the performance issue. You may also try defragmenting your drive. Other possible reasons are that memory is running low or other programs are using the CPU, drive, or network.
