Checking Profiles after updating from SyncBackSE V3 or SyncBack V3 Freeware to SyncBackFree/Lite/SE/Pro V4 or newer
This article shows how to check your profile/s in SyncBackFree/Lite/SE/Pro V4 or newer if you've updated from SyncBackSE V3 or SyncBack V3 freeware. In some cases the profile may not include any sub-folders or some sub-folders that you expected to be selected may not be included.
This step-by-step procedure shows:
1. How to modify a profile by going to the folder tree
2. How to expand the folders to see if the sub-folders and files are correctly selected
3. If sub-folders are not being selected when they should, how to add the following: '*\' to the Files/folders to copy filter
Launch SyncBackSE or SyncBackPro, select a Profile, then click the Modify button:
The Profile Setup window will open.
Click the button Choose sub-directories and files:
The File and Folder Selection window now opens. Click the '+' buttons to view your files and folders:
Notice how neither the 'Financial' nor the 'Photos' folders are selected when actually you may have wanted them included:
If some of the files or folders are not selected in the way you anticipated, click the Change Filter button at the bottom of the File and Folder Selection window:
Click the Add button above the Help button and enter a new File Mask: *\
Click the 'OK' button, then click the 'OK' button again to close the Filters window. A dialog box appears asking you to confirm the changes to your selections based on the new filters:
Click the Yes to All button. The folder tree will now highlight the folders that have now been included in your profile:
Click the OK button to close the File & Folder Selection window, and click OK in the Profile Setup window to save your profile.
