Cannot see hidden folders when choosing a source or destination folder

To see hidden folders in a folder selection dialog box please follow these steps:

- Run Windows File Explorer

- Select Tools -> Folder Options from the menu

- Go to the View tab

- Select the option Show hidden files and folders (which is under Hidden files and folders)

Windows 8 and newer: there is a 'Hidden items' checkbox in the Show/Hide section of the View tab of the Explorer ribbon. Other methods exist, for example: http://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=27479

Note that there is a bug in Windows such that, hidden child folders are not displayed in a folder selection dialog box if the parent folder does not contain any other folders or only contains hidden folders. A workaround is to select the parent folder and click the New Folder button. The hidden child folders will now appear.
